What do you do whenever you are down?

Proverbs 11:25

What do you do whenever you feel sad or down with reason or sometimes with no reason? I always have my personal experience of this melancholic rush within me if not always, more than twice a week. To be honest, never in a week, I will experience a full week blast of inner happiness. And if I am not conscious enough of what it is doing in my entire days my sadness will crossover even to the following week. And it is totally devastating because it affects my relationship with my family and personal growth.

Then one time, I decided to message Anna, one of our good friends and sister, who became part of our family and counselor. I asked her, what she usually does whenever she feels sad or down or something alike. Her answer brought clarity to my existence and it opened doors for more opportunity to reach out to more young people. She said whenever she has this feeling she usually walks outside enjoying nature but most often looking for people whom she can talk with, encourage and pray for. She shared to me the wisdom of King Solomon from Proverbs 11:25,  “The generous will prosper; those who refresh others will themselves be refreshed.”

This revolutionized how I should see my self and how I can be a help to others also. So started also doing the same thing, when I feel sad, depressed, empty, or alike I will send a message to my contacts of what I could pray for them. This really lightens the weight within me and made a way for a deeper relationship with the locals and internationals we are reaching out.

We have many Muslim contacts who replied with their written prayer requests and another amazing thing also was I have one atheist contact and lots of agnostic friends who replied to pray for their needs also.

But there is one remarkable guy who disconnected himself from our big contacts when he learned about us. However, I never give on him even until now. So I sent this kind of message also, it was the month of Ramadan and I wasn’t conscious of that, to be honest, and out of surprise, he replied something that I have never expected. He told me that he is a Muslim, which a hundred I know, but he went on about his beliefs, why he could not become us. He tried taught me how to find the ‘right’ as Muhammad taught. And my reply was just, I was happy to hear his belief, and without battling his taught because I know the danger if I did. Whatsapp conversation here is being tracked. So I just told him, I want this kind of conversation with him over a cup of tea ( not coffee though I like coffee, but I changed preference now :D). Then he said sure and he was willing to welcome me to come over his office and continue our dialogue there. This was an amazing experience via Whatsapp. We are in good terms still and praying for him to come to know the real One GOD.

This I continue doing for it gives me reason now why the Lord is letting me experience this kind of bile flowing within me and affecting my soul so much. I realized that there are people out there who need our prayer. There are out there who need your how are you bro/sis? There are out there who need someone that will listen to them. I understand now that dwelling within my loneliness is the most selfish thing that I could do, being forgetful that I have my wife and daughter, I have my parents, a brother and a sister, I have my friends and I have the power to overcome the deception of the devil, that because you are introvert or because you are melancholic. No! I can overcome because I have Christ in me.

Here you will realize the power of Christ every time we are weak. When you feel weak, sad, or depressed, it is a sign that someone needs our prayer and that our soul needs to be refresh again by hearing stories from others and praying for their needs too. This is the biggest impact we can make in the lives of our contacts by just praying for them.
