If You are Willing
Mark 1:40-45

We are all in desperate need and seeking Him in a quiet place to come and save us. Jesus when He was passing that way going to the city a leper heard about His coming and decided to meet on the way and asked Him boldly of his needs of healing. I realized, that I was in desperate need and searching for Him in our secret place knowing that He will pass that path. Weeks and months passed, I was in trouble searching for some of His footsteps, maybe He passed this way and I just missed it. But He never did yet. Another day came by, lost for words already, seems like all my strengths were done, I decided to hold my arms up as a sign of surrender and stop worrying and doubting, don’t know if there were still hope. I just thought it was a waste of energy and time. I just decided to focus on reaching out to the young people who are already connected to us. Well, at least, for the last time I know that I still made something crucial in our Father’s business. But still meeting Him in our secret place knowing He still listens to my heart’s cry with no tears to my eyes. Just under my breath, whispering words of desperation, Lord if You are willing, I know you can do it AGAIN!
The leper found healing, as Jesus was moved with compassion. He saw his faith and He saw his desperation. He saw what this leper can do for the sake of the Kingdom. So Jesus boldly said, I am willing; be cleansed. In a blink of an eye, the leper was healed. People saw it and though He was instructed to do the ceremony that Moses was commanded, he didn’t listen but instead went His way declaring the wonder that God did to him. I started thinking about this if he really disobeyed Jesus or did Jesus really know that God will let it happen so that His salvation and good works might be heard? The original plan was to go inside the city and preach the gospel there but it turned out that after hearing the testimony of the cleansed leper, people from the city and even around the region came out and met Him outside where He was. They decided to meet Him where He can be found. This made me think that if people will just see and what the Lord can do to my life, they will not wait for Him to come to them but rather out of desperation too, they will come and seek Him outside their comfort zone and surely will find Him.
Just yesterday, June 09, still in desperate need but perfectly peaceful. My family went to the biggest park here in Almaty with some friends. Though the weather was grey and twice it sprinkled but we were ready. Telling to the cloudy weather and wind – you just sprinkle, we’re Filipino. Though before evening time strike the sun appeared, yes, please don’t be confused, it is spring season and the day ends at ten in the evening. Funny but we just enjoyed the scenery and looking at the beauty of spring. Flowers all around, squirrels jumping and running around the trees and even crossing the aisles. No marks of pandemic inside. People were having fun and children were playing without masks. It was refreshing and totally relieving. I was at peace that He is doing great things for His namesake. Afternoon came, we received a message that will secure the continuity of our work here. I was so happy because He even provided more than what we were expecting. Then, today in my devotion, I asked myself did I just missed His footstep? Yes, I did, there I saw He already left a mark, an answered prayer. The deadline for payment was until May 30 only but I remember that they told us not to worry because we can still pay until they have prepared the documents to be submitted to the authorities. Just in time, June 09, the day when they have given to us the documents and the day when we will receive the payment to cover the expenses for the whole year of 2020 till June 30, 2021.
I realized that God is really not silent. He answers prayers. We are just so much focused on what we want specifically that we missed some details of His miraculous works. I realized that we need to open our eyes wide so to see even the smallest things He is doing around us. We need to move even just one step or two backward to see the big thing that He already prepared before us. He never gets late. We are just so desperate to get what we want or need immediately. And I don’t judge it wrong. What we just need to do is find His way and meet Him in that place and implore. If you do not know which way He is going. He is always going to the secret place where you and Him alone. It is not the church or any place, only a sincere heart that is willing to implore, Lord, if you are willing. And He is so much willing!
So take courage brethren! He is in His business of unfolding great things on your behalf for the world to see that He is powerful and nothing is impossible with Him.
We are grateful for those who prayed with us and together we are celebrating this victory for His glory in Jesus’ Name!
