You are Gifted with Power

Since we are called to the Father’s business do we have the sense of knowing that we have everything that we need as we go out to the field? This is not just to preach the gospel but also to perform wonders through His name. I remember, that I was praying that I would have the gifts that other ministers have. I prayed to have the gift of tongues, I received it. I prayed to see visions, I experienced it. I prayed that I can cast out demons too and my first experience of it was remarkable. Now, I am praying also to have the gift of healing too for I know we should have it too. 

I believe that since we decided to fully surrender our lives to GOD and humbly follow His footsteps, the Holy Spirit has been given to us and thus endowed us with all kinds of gifts. Not just love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, gentleness, faithfulness, and self-control. He also empowered us to go and share His love for those people who do not know Him. He gave us power also to deliver people who possessed by the evil spirits and heal the sick by praying for them. 

These verses showed me the grace of God over my life. He let me witnessed and experienced such things so that I will realize that I have them with me. I witnessed how my father exorcised, for he often brought me with him whenever people called him to drive out demons from their relatives. Then soon I started doing it too. My first experience was really great but exhausting because I remember It took almost three hours before the bad spirit came out. Then I realized that to do it fast, much time of prayer and fasting is really needed if you will embrace this gift that is already in us. I also witnessed the immediate healing, when a Korean missionary (Yang Muksanim his name) prayed for me. I had a terrible stomach ache that the medicine I drank did not work. So he came to my room and prayed for just seconds and yes, as a quick as it is, I had my healing. And I knew why it happened so fast. Every day he prays from early dawn at four till morning breaks of passed six and fasting sometimes. So it is by prayer and fasting again.

This is my realization, am I really powerless because I cannot see these things happening to my life, preaching the word, casting out demons, and healing the sick? No, I am not. for in the first place, the source of power is not from me but from the Holy Spirit that lives in me. And never He became powerless. Then why I never experience these things manifesting in my life? The answer is my lack of prayer and fasting. I know that it is a gift given to some as apostle Paul had said. But I strongly believe that we need to awaken our spirit with this gift already given to us by Christ by prayer and fasting. These gifts can be made alive in us if we will pray and fast, Jesus said (Mark 9:29).

I am grateful that I am surrounded by people who love to pray and fast. It really feels refreshing to the soul when you have someone that you prayed for even though they do not ask. Even though they are not possessed or sick. But after the time of catching up and by just saying can I pray for you now, is really encouraging on your end. Now, I really feel the Lord is preparing me again to do the ministry of casting out demons and healing the sick too and not just preaching the Gospel. 

This is your calling also. This is our calling. When you consider yourself a follower of Christ then you are gifted with this power to preach, cast out demons and heal the sick. I believe this the generation who needs to see the wonderful work of our God and by seeing and experiencing it they will be saved.
